Hollywood Awards Local DJ For Successfully Talking Into A Microphone
Singapore’s collective inferiority complex received a massive boost this week after a Hollywood-adjacent nonprofit handed Dennis Chew an award for "Outstanding Promo Demo."
The win marks the first time Americans have listened to a Singaporean speak without immediately asking for English subtitles or a refund.
Chew, who spends his mornings on radio and his nights struggling through an SUSS degree, is reportedly "touched" that someone finally listened to him without being stuck in a jam on the PIE.
"Wah, talk into mic only can win Hollywood award ah?" remarked local taxi driver Uncle Teck. "I talk shit in my taxi for thirty years, why no one give me trophy? My voice more power than his Auntie Lucy voice lah, knn!"
This satire is based on a real news story.
