Mediacorp heartthrob Elvin Ng has successfully undergone emergency surgery to remove a dark, circular shadow that turned out to be the looming void of his own acting range.

The 45-year-old hunk initially feared permanent blindness, unaware that most Singaporeans have been closing their eyes whenever he appears on screen since 2005.

Doctors confirmed that while the actor’s retina was detached, his connection to reality remains completely severed.

The "dark shadow" reportedly appeared at 3 am, which is coincidentally the same time most Sinkies have nightmares about watching a mediocre Channel 8 drama.

Medical experts warned that if the fluid had reached the eye’s centre, Elvin might have been forced to actually read a script instead of just looking pensive.

The actor is now resting at home, practising his signature "confused but handsome" expression in a dark room.

Sinkies are relieved the surgery succeeded, as a blind Elvin Ng might accidentally wander into a production with actual merit.
