Sinkie Landlord Lives Under Bridge To Rent Out 10sqft Pantry
A local investor has achieved the ultimate Singaporean dream by moving into a damp cardboard box under the Benjamin Sheares Bridge.
This bold lifestyle choice allows him to rent out his luxury "pantry-suite" in Geylang for $4,500 a month to a desperate expatriate.
"Ai ya, sacrifice a bit only what, now my passive income damn steady," said 45-year-old landlord, Tan Ah Kow.
The unit, which is essentially a broom closet with a communal bucket, was marketed as an "industrial-chic minimalist sanctuary with natural ventilation."
"Limpeh don't need bed, I sleep on the floor also can, as long as my ABSD don't kill me," he added while rinsing his armpits in the Singapore River.
Property experts suggest this "homeless-for-profit" strategy is the only way for the average Sinkie to avoid starving while paying off a 99-year leasehold coffin.
